Causes

This year we are supporting three organisations directly with all profits from the event:

Blewbury Pre-School

Blewbury Pre-School has been providing early years education for children since 1971. Located in the centre of the beautiful village of Blewbury near Didcot, we are very much at the heart of the community. We believe that a child has the best start to their early years education in an environment where they are happy, cared for and their individual contribution is valued by all.

We offer the Early Years Foundation Stage to children from 2½ – 4 years, up to 5 sessions per week. Our aim is for the children to learn through play, so at each session we provide activities which promote learning, both indoors and outdoors.

The proceeds going to the village pre-school will help fund equipment and resources, and to meet any other funding needs.

UNICEF Childrens Emergency Fund

With any conflict, children suffer first and suffer most.

The number of countries in active armed conflicts is the highest in the last 30 years. Those most vulnerable, are being injured or killed on the frontline of conflicts around the world.

Over 43 million children have been displaced globally, losing their homes and the services they rely on. They’re deprived of access to food, shelter, health care and education. Children are more vulnerable to abuse and exploitation.

We call for ceasefires and humanitarian corridors to allow safe passage for children and families. We are always ready to deliver immediate support.

The Beer Festival will be supporting the Children’s Emergency Fund for crises now and yet to come.

The Blewbury Village Society

The Blewbury Village Society is a team of volunteers who help to run events for the village – from comedy nights, Bonfire Night firework extravaganzas, the Summer Dance and the Beer Festival itself, to Santa’s Sleigh, Egg Rolling at Easter and the Boxing Day Walk. Blewbury wouldn’t be Blewbury if the BVS didn’t put on their astonishing array of events.

The BVS committee are always grateful to hear your ideas and for any offers of help. If you have an event that you would like to make happen, or if you would just like to support one of our regular calendar events, please get in touch using this contact form.
