The Red Lion

The Red Lion, at the heart of the village, has a vibrant sense of place, run by a bar team of friendly familiar faces.

The Blewbury Bread Company

Stemming from a lockdown Sourdough hobby, The Blewbury Bread Co. opened for business in May 2020, baking to order 50 Loaves & 300 Pastries each of the first two weekends!

Since then we have gone from delivering, to operating small pop up stalls in local villages, to teaming up with The Blueberry Pub for pop ups both inside and out of the pub, to our current permanent location at Savages Nursery, where you can find us Thurs – Sat from 10am.

We make & bake around 20 different products in house, each day – from pastries such as Croissants, Pain au Chocolats, Cruffins, Pains au Raisins & Feta Swirls to savoury options including our popular Sausage Rolls, Cheese Straws and Olive Doughsticks.

Our Bread offering is mostly Sourdough and includes a 100% Rye Bread, a Seeded loaf, Ancient Grains, a Weekly special and our House Country Sourdough, the loaf that kicked off the business in 2020!

Sourdough and slow fermented breads have been proven to be healthier for your gut biome, are more easily digested and we think much more tasty than other more processed bread.

When it comes to choosing our suppliers, we apply the same philosophy and use the best, additive free ingredients we can find, resulting in delicious bakes!

Some of these include; Butter from The Estate Dairy, Olive Oil from Honest Toil, Flour from Shipton Mill, Jam from The Bay Tree, Vahlrona Chocolate, Lacey’s Milk and Beechwood Eggs.

Fraser’s Budgens is an independent family run retail business in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire (Yarnton – North Oxford, Witney, Brize Norton, Three Mile Cross – Reading and Marlborough) The stores primarily sell fuel, groceries and valeting with the company winning various national awards in it’s time since being set up in 1954 by Bob Fraser (including Retail Industry and Forecourt Trader).
